Orly Gossip Girl Nail polish

I usually don't go for golds as I find that gold isn't very flattering to my skin tone. Luckily, Gossip Girl really worked out for me! I would describe it as an almost pink-hued gold with a glittery jelly base. The following swatch above is two layers of Gossip Girl with no base colour underneath. Gossip Girl is one of the most impressive glitters I have tried this year, having both chunky and fine glitters in its formula. I also liked how easy it was to work with and was pretty much opaque in two layers. Gossip Girl is definitely a festive colour for the holidays and I'm rocking it for Christmas. Happy holidays everyone!

NYX Intense Butter Gloss Chocolate Crepe

I have found myself picking up more of these Intense Butter Glosses up over the last few weeks so expect to see a few reviews of them every now and then. Brown lipsticks/lipglosses were really in this past fall and Chocolate Crepe is one of the most wearable brown shades I have ever worn. I would say it pulls a bit burgundy-red on my lips, so don't let the dark shade on the outside tube scare you away. I'm a big fan of these Intense Butter Glosses because of how comfortable they are to wear and how pigmented the formula is. They also come in some many different and unconventional shades which I think makes NYX stand out from the usual "play-it-safe" drugstore brands. If you're looking to foray into the world of brown shades, Chocolate Crepe might be a great place to start.

China Glaze Coal Hands, Warm Heart

I kept my word and went back to the salon to pick up China Glaze's Coal Hands, Warm Heart. I just couldn't forget this dazzling multidimensional glitter and that it stood out in a holiday release. Since these glitters are slightly bigger and more varied than I Soiree I Didn't Do It, I decided to layer it on top of one coat of a black polish (I used Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Black Out). There are two coats of Coal Hands, Warm Heart on top of that and I have to say it turned out really well! The blue glitters really give the black base a blue tinge and I love the random gold glitters. It's just a colour palette which is so pleasing to look at and I'm sure this polish will have further use than simply being a holiday polish.

Covergirl Oh Balm! Vitamin Infused Balm 10 Gumdrop

I have been let down by coloured balms in the past and have steered clear of them for a while. I picked this up at the drugstore the other night and I would have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. Gumdrop is a very sheer mauve colour which will give a dark tint to your lips at best, but is actually fairly moisturizing. I found that with L'oreal's Color Riche Balm and Maybelline's Babylips, the moisture was very superficial. It would apply very comfortably, but the "balmy" feeling wouldn't stay very long-twenty minutes the most! I have had this balm on for about an hour now and I really think the only way it would run out was if I wiped it off or ate something. Overall, I am quite pleased. Sometimes it's nice to have a bit of colour and lip balm power at the same time.

China Glaze I Soiree I Didn't Do It

I always get really excited for China Glaze's Holiday releases and have fond memories of great colours from the past. I Soiree I Didn't Do It is from their Cheers Holiday 2015 collection and I would describe it as a teal glitter nailpolish. This look was achieved with three layers of the polish and two layers of Seche Viche topcoat on top (I find glitter polishes chip really easily, so hence why I felt I needed a little more top coat protection). This colour is lovely on its own and doesn't need a base to be opaque, although I'm sure you could come up with some cool looks with it. I know that the Cheers collection didn't quite hit it off with everybody, but I really think that it took a different spin from your typical holiday reds and multicolored glitters. I'm considering going back to pick up Coal Hands Warm Hearts.

Bonne Bell LipLaquer Bellini

Every once in a while, I get hit with nostalgia and miss the things I had as a child. Any kid who grew up in North America is probably familiar with Bonne Bell's Lipsmackers chapsticks which came in every flavour a kid could dream of. That's why I'm always a bit surprised every once and a while to run into the Bonne Bell products which are tailored towards older young woman (did I just write an oxymoron there?!). Surprisingly, these liplaquers are pretty great formula and pigment wise. Bellini pulls a warm coral colour with some shimmer (of course) on lips and the formula feels moisturizing. The only problem is the smell, which reminds me of some really sour Starburst candies or sour fruit. If you can tolerate a sub-par fruit smell, I totally recommend this lipgloss to you; it's a great compromise to your younger Lipsmacker's lovin' self.

L'oreal Color Riche Nail Polish Feline Sauvage

Bonus post of the day! I'm hoping to help you all decide on which colours to wear with the upcoming holiday parties and all. Feline Sauvage is a deep emerald pine green with micro shimmer. It's insanely gorgeous and such a fitting colour for the holidays. I have yet to see any of the major players release a colour like this in their holiday collections this year (I'm looking at you OPI and China Glaze). Although I really like the concept of mini polishes (heck, who uses a whole bottle these days), I didn't especially like the brush included with this one; it reminds me a lot of the ones that come with Sally Hansen's nail polishes. The polish though is quite easy to work with. I recommend two thick coats for even coverage.
